Bulova, an Iconic American Watch Brand, Stands for Timekeeping Innovation and Excellence
Stainless-steel Product Details: - Continuously sweeping second hand - Casual style - 24mm band width - 9-inch band length - 300M water resistance
Pushing the Limits of Bulova Engineering
The Precisionist series represents Bulova's commitment to creating something new and wonderful. The brushed and polished stainless steel case measures 46mm in diameter and 14mm thick, housing a sturdy link bracelet with a push-button hidden deployment clasp that secures the watch comfortably on the wrist.
The patterned dial is accentuated by luminous hands and hour markers, complementing the Quartz movement that delivers accuracy of 10 seconds per year. A convenient date display is located at the third hour. The scratch-resistant mineral crystal protects the water-resistant case, which is rated for up to 300 meters.
Precisionist Technology: Unparalleled Accuracy
At the heart of the Precisionist watch is Bulova's proprietary Precisionist-class torsional resonator movement, custom-engineered to provide accuracy within seconds per year. This is achieved through the use of a three-prong quartz crystal that creates a vibration frequency of 262.144 kHz, the highest in the world and far greater than a standard quartz crystal.
Laboratory testing has shown the Precisionist-class movement to be three times more accurate than standard quartz. Additionally, this proprietary movement, including the signature floating second hand, offers superior resistance to gravitational error, outperforming any mechanical watch on the market.
Bulova's Legacy of Innovation and Excellence
Bulova's story began in 1875 when 23-year-old Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, laying the foundation for a legendary American watch brand. Since then, Bulova has stood at the forefront of timekeeping innovation, registering over 50 patents and establishing its own observatory to ensure the utmost precision.
Bulova's pioneering spirit has transformed the way watches are worn and time is perceived. Key milestones include the introduction of the first full lines of men's (1919) and ladies' (1924) wristwatches, the first clock/radio (1928), and the first electric clock (1931). After World War II, Bulova established the Bulova School of Watchmaking to train disabled veterans for positions in the watch and jewelry industry.
In 1960, Bulova changed timekeeping forever with the revolutionary Accutron, the world's first fully electronic watch. Accutron timing was integral to U.S. space technology, used on 46 NASA missions, including Apollo XI, the first lunar landing (1969).
Today, Bulova has expanded globally, with four separate watch brands: Bulova, Bulova AccuSwiss, Bulova Accutron II, and Caravelle New York, as well as the award-winning Bulova Clocks. The Bulova brand offers an extensive selection of watches crafted with the finest materials, including surgical-grade stainless steel, diamonds, mother-of-pearl, carbon fiber, and Bulova's proprietary Duramicâ„¢ nylon/ceramic composite. These watches are powered by Precisionist-class quartz, automatic, and quartz movements, and are backed by a three-year limited warranty.
